Pinoy teen tops International Benchmark Test in English

At a time when the Philippines performance in achievement test for English is on the decline, Rod Kevin Ybardolaza, a fourteen year old Grade 9 or Third Year high school student from the Sacred Heart School of Bahrain showed that with hard work and proper training Filipinos are still capable of outstanding achievements. Rod Kevin obtained 100% percentile rank in the school, regional and international category for the International Benchmark Test in English given by the Australian Council for Educational Research. He was given an ” Award of Excellence”, a Certificate of Honor and a cash prize of 50 Bahrain Dinar.

This early he is already preparing and looking forward to next year’s test which will be his last before graduating in high school. He is planning to study college at UP or Ateneo in the Philippines.
